Who we are

Uchaguzi Sasa is an independent political opinion polling platform for Kenya. It is not the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and does not run official elections.

Data we collect

• Phone numbers used for OTP verification (stored as secure fingerprints/hashes where applicable)
• Opinion votes linked to races and candidates
• Candidate submissions (name, biography, manifesto, photo, contact details you provide)
• Technical logs (IP hash, user agent) for security and abuse prevention
• Agent and admin account credentials for authorised operators

How we use data

• Record and display aggregated opinion poll results
• Enforce voting limits and reduce fraud
• Operate agent, admin, and Campaign HQ workflows
• Improve platform reliability and security

Sharing

We do not sell personal data. Aggregated, non-identifying poll statistics may be shown publicly. Private Campaign HQ data is isolated per campaign. Authorised agents only access data within their role and geography.

Retention & security

We apply technical controls including hashed credentials, session limits, server-side permission checks, and audit logs for sensitive actions. No system is perfectly secure; report concerns to the contact email on the site.
