About Uchaguzi Sasa

SEE. KNOW. PARTICIPATE DECISIVELY.

Democracy works best when citizens are informed.

Uchaguzi Sasa is a Kenyan election intelligence and civic participation platform. We help people understand elections, explore candidates and electoral races, access election information, express their opinions, and engage more meaningfully in democracy.

Elections are shaped by what citizens know, the perspectives they share, and the choices they make. Our work is to make electoral information easier to access, give public opinion a place to be heard, and help people engage with democracy more confidently.

From election intelligence and public opinions to leadership assessment and electoral insights, Uchaguzi Sasa brings together tools that help citizens understand Kenya's political landscape and participate more meaningfully in its democratic future.

Our Constitutional Foundation

The Constitution of Kenya, 2010 establishes the democratic principles that inspire our work. We believe informed participation, freedom of expression, access to information, political rights, and accountable leadership are essential to a stronger democracy.

Uchaguzi Sasa is an independent technology platform. It is not a government institution, an IEBC product, or a body established by the Constitution. These constitutional provisions inform our principles; they do not constitute an official endorsement of our platform.

Article 1 — Sovereignty of the People

All sovereign power belongs to the people of Kenya. A sovereign people should be able to understand the choices before them and participate meaningfully in shaping the country's future. This principle informs our commitment to making electoral information more accessible.

Article 33 — Freedom of Expression

The Constitution protects freedom of expression, including the freedom to seek, receive, and impart information and ideas, subject to constitutional limitations. This principle informs our commitment to providing opportunities for citizens to express their perspectives on elections, leadership, governance, and public affairs.

Article 35 — Access to Information

The Constitution establishes rights of access to information held by the State and, in specified circumstances, information held by another person where required for the exercise or protection of a right or fundamental freedom. We seek to make electoral information easier to discover, understand, and examine.

Article 38 — Political Rights

The Constitution protects citizens' political rights, including the right to make political choices, vote, and stand for public office, subject to applicable constitutional requirements. We believe accessible information can help citizens engage with these choices more knowledgeably.

Chapter Six — Leadership and Integrity

Article 73 recognises leadership as a public trust and emphasises service to the people, integrity, and accountability. These principles inform our interest in leadership evaluation and the Uchaguzi Sasa Scorecard, which encourages more structured examination of leadership and performance.

Chapter Seven — Representation of the People

Chapter Seven establishes important principles and provisions governing elections and political representation. Our election intelligence tools seek to help citizens understand candidates, electoral contests, and the broader framework through which representation takes place.

What We Do

Election Intelligence

Kenya's electoral landscape spans presidential, gubernatorial, parliamentary, and county-level contests. Understanding these races should not require specialist knowledge or searching across disconnected sources.

Uchaguzi Sasa helps users explore candidates, discover electoral races, compare contests, examine historical information, and access available election results. Our goal is to make the information behind Kenya's elections easier to navigate and understand.

Public Opinions

Citizens have perspectives on how they are governed, how leaders perform, and which issues deserve attention. Those perspectives matter.

Uchaguzi Sasa collects public opinions on leadership, governance, elections, and issues that matter to citizens. Our aim is to provide opportunities for people to express their views and contribute to a broader understanding of public sentiment.

Opinion is not automatically fact. Collected opinions reflect the views expressed by participants and should not be interpreted as representing all Kenyans or as statistically representative polling unless the methodology supports that conclusion.

The Uchaguzi Sasa Scorecard

Leadership deserves informed scrutiny. The Uchaguzi Sasa Scorecard provides a structured way to examine leadership, performance, and public assessments.

Inspired by the constitutional principle that leadership is a public trust, the Scorecard encourages a more systematic approach to evaluating leadership and discussing accountability.

The Scorecard should be understood according to its actual criteria and methodology. It is not an official government rating or a claim of constitutional or institutional endorsement.

Electoral Data and Insights

Electoral information becomes more useful when people can explore it in context.

Uchaguzi Sasa brings together available electoral information, comparisons, historical data, and insights to help users examine political contests across different places and election cycles.

We aim to communicate the status and context of election information clearly. Results are not automatically official or certified simply because they appear on the platform; their verification status should guide how they are interpreted.

Campaign Command Centre: Your Campaign. Your Space. Your Operations.

A serious campaign needs more than visibility. It needs a system for getting things done.

Behind every political campaign is a complex operation. People need to know their responsibilities. Teams need to coordinate across locations. Information needs to reach the right people. Leadership needs a clearer picture of assigned work and operational progress.

When campaign activities are scattered across messaging applications, phone calls, spreadsheets, and disconnected reporting channels, coordination becomes harder. Responsibilities can become unclear, information can be difficult to consolidate, and campaign leadership can struggle to maintain an organised view of operations.

Uchaguzi Sasa offers dedicated private campaign spaces designed to bring campaign operations into a more structured digital environment.

Think of your campaign space as a virtual command centre: a dedicated working environment for your campaign leadership, managers, and authorised team members to organise work and coordinate campaign activities.

Built Around Your Campaign

Your campaign deserves more than a collection of disconnected tools. A dedicated campaign space provides an environment for organising campaign information, responsibilities, and activities within a defined operational structure.

From Leadership to the Field

Campaigns depend on coordination between leadership and teams working across geographic and operational levels. Our campaign tools are designed to support organised responsibilities and coordination across campaign structures, according to the capabilities available in your chosen setup.

Greater Visibility. Better Coordination.

Campaign leadership needs to understand what has been assigned, what information is available, and where attention may be needed. A central working environment can help authorised team members maintain a clearer view of campaign activities and responsibilities.

A Dedicated Space for Your Team

Give your campaign a distinct digital working environment, separate from the public-facing election intelligence platform. Private campaign operations are intended for authorised users, with access and separation governed by the platform's implemented controls.

Designed for Modern Political Campaigns

Whether you are an aspirant preparing to contest, a candidate running an active campaign, or a campaign manager coordinating teams across multiple locations, a dedicated campaign space offers an organised foundation for your campaign's work.

It is about creating a more coherent way to manage responsibilities, coordinate people, and keep operational information organised as your campaign progresses.

Your Campaign Deserves an Operational Advantage

Your campaign represents an important commitment of time, resources, and effort. The systems supporting it should reflect that seriousness.

Instead of allowing essential campaign work to remain fragmented across disconnected processes, explore a dedicated digital environment designed to support your team's organisation and coordination.

Your campaign is too important to run on fragmented processes alone.

Your campaign deserves a system built for the work behind the race.

Explore the possibilities for your campaign and discover which tools and setup best match your operational needs.

A campaign space is an operational tool. It does not guarantee electoral success, voter support, or election results.

Our Principles

Transparency. We aim to present electoral information clearly, with appropriate context about its source, meaning, and verification status.

Accountability. We believe informed scrutiny and responsible evaluation are important to public leadership and democratic participation.

Independence. We operate as an independent technology platform, without claiming government affiliation or official endorsement.

Integrity. We strive to handle information, public opinions, and leadership assessments responsibly and honestly.

Accessibility. Electoral information should be easier for citizens to find, navigate, and understand.

Responsible public opinion. We distinguish expressed opinions from verified facts and avoid presenting collected views as representative polling without appropriate evidence.

Privacy and controlled access. We recognise the distinction between public information and private campaign operations and aim to protect campaign information through appropriate access controls.

Operational excellence. We believe modern digital tools can help campaign teams organise responsibilities, coordinate activities, and manage their work more effectively.

Our Vision

We envision a Kenya where citizens can access meaningful election information, express their perspectives, evaluate leadership responsibly, and participate in democracy with greater confidence.

We also envision a modern electoral environment in which candidates and campaign teams can access digital tools that help them organise their operations, coordinate their people, and approach their responsibilities with greater structure and professionalism.

Election intelligence helps citizens understand. Public opinion gives perspectives a place to be heard. Leadership assessment encourages accountability. Campaign technology helps candidates organise the work behind seeking public office.

Uchaguzi Sasa brings election intelligence, public voice, leadership accountability, and campaign technology into one connected electoral ecosystem.
